Reading Transaction Insight

Plans: Pro

Most of the panel compares this transaction with others of the same type for the same customer or vendor over the last 12 months. For example, a vendor bill is compared with that vendor's other bills.

The summary

The top of the panel shows:

  • Transactions (12 mo): how many transactions of this type the entity had, with the entity's name, the start date and the type.
  • Last activity: the date of the most recent one.
  • Total, Avg, Max and Min: their amounts.

Next to the summary are three rings:

  • 30d share: this transaction's amount as a share of the last 30 days' total.
  • Recency: days since the last transaction of this type.
  • Avg/max: the average amount as a share of the largest one.

The cards

  • Amount Anomaly compares this transaction's amount with the 12-month average, for example "Above average: 2.3x". It also shows the largest amount.
  • Frequency compares the number in the last 7 days with the average week, for example "Above avg: 4 vs 1.2 avg/wk".

The colour tells you whether the difference is good news:

  • Customer transactions (invoices, payments, cash sales and so on): above average is green, below is red.
  • Vendor transactions (bills, bill payments, purchase orders, checks, expense reports): below average is green, above is red.
  • Other transaction types: the cards stay neutral.

Anything within 10% of the average shows as Near average or Normal.
