Field Map Tips and Limits

Plans: All plans

Tips

  • Find a field from its value. If you know what's in a field but not what it's called, search for the value, such as an amount or a reference number.
  • Build an import template from a real record. Open a record like the one you want to import, then use CSV Builder with Show field IDs on. You get the columns in form order, with mandatory fields marked.
  • Total a sublist column. Click an amount or quantity row in a sublist to see its value on every line, plus a Sum.
  • Match the form. Choose Sort by form layout to see fields in the same order as the NetSuite form.
  • Get IDs for a saved search formula. Copy a field ID with the braces already on, ready to paste into a formula like {memo}.

Known limits

  • Field Map doesn't work on a record you're creating. Save it first.
  • Only the Items, Expenses, Lines and Apply sublists are shown. Other sublists, such as addresses, aren't included.
  • If you change a field while Field Map is open, it keeps showing the old value. Save the record and open Field Map again.
  • Fields the form doesn't label appear in a collapsed No form label section. Their names are made from the field ID.
  • Hide empty and unchecked is paused while you search.
  • CSV Builder always includes every field. You can't pick columns, but you can delete them in Excel.
  • CSV Builder downloads an Excel file (.xlsx). To get a .csv file, save it as CSV from Excel.
  • REST JSON lists at most 250 lines per sublist.
