Getting a Record's REST JSON

Plans: All plans

REST JSON gives developers two things: the SuiteTalk REST address for this record, and the record's current values as JSON, keyed by field ID.

Getting the endpoint and JSON

To get them:

  1. Open Field Map, then click REST JSON at the bottom.
  2. Next to Record endpoint, click ⧉ (Copy the endpoint URL) to copy the GET address for this record.
  3. Next to Field values on this record, click ⧉ (Copy the JSON) to copy the values.

Sublists appear as lists of lines under their sublist ID. List fields show internal IDs, and checkboxes show true or false.

Important: The JSON is a readout of what the record holds. It isn't a request body you can send back to NetSuite as it is.

Options

  • Hide system fields: leaves out NetSuite's internal housekeeping fields.
  • Hide empty values: leaves out blank fields.
  • Pretty JSON: spreads the JSON over several lines so it's easier to read.
  • Max sublist lines: how many lines of each sublist to include, from 1 to 250. The default is 25.

Open Field hints to see every field with where it sits and its type.
