Exporting a Record with CSV Builder

Plans: All plans

CSV Builder turns the record into a table with one row per sublist line and one column per field. It's a quick starting point for an import template, or a way to hand someone a record's data.

Building the export

To export a record:

  1. Open Field Map, then click CSV Builder at the bottom. The button shows Loading... until the record has been read.
  2. Under Preferences, choose what you want (see below). The CSV Example preview updates as you go.
  3. Click Export to download an Excel file (.xlsx) named after the record type and form. You can also click the copy icon (Copy CSV) to put the table on your clipboard, ready to paste into a spreadsheet.

Every field is included. Header fields repeat on each line, and sublist columns are labelled with their sublist, such as "Amount (Item)".

Preferences

  • Hide empty columns: leaves out fields with no value on any line.
  • Show field IDs: adds a row of field IDs under the labels.
  • Show Tabs: adds a row showing the tab or sublist each field comes from.
  • Use internal IDs: shows list values as internal IDs, not names.
  • Remove commas from numbers: writes 1,250.00 as 1250.00.

SuiteHUD remembers your choices for next time.

Finding a value

Type in Search data... to highlight matching cells in the preview. Use ▲ and ▼ (or the arrow keys) to move between matches.

Tip: In the downloaded file, mandatory fields are marked with * and shown in red. This makes it easier to see what an import will need.
