Search Studio Tips and Limits
Plans: All plans (AI help: Pro)
Tips
- Test before you touch a live search. Edit, preview, then use Save as new… to check the result before you update the original.
- Fix double-counted totals. If the Doctor warns Amounts are probably double-counted, add a Main Line is true criterion.
- Get rows into Excel fast. Click Copy rows under the results, then paste into Excel or Google Sheets.
- Describe a search in words (Pro). Open Search Studio with no search loaded, type something like "open bills over 60 days, grouped by vendor" and click Build a draft. Nothing is created in NetSuite until you save it.
- Find a field's ID. Use the Fields tab to look up any field or join by name.
Known limits
- You can only edit criteria and columns in the Studio layout. Rail shows results only.
- ↻ reads the NetSuite form again and runs it. Edits you made in the panel are lost. To run your edits, use Re-run.
- Edits you make in Search Studio aren't copied into the NetSuite form, and they're lost if you leave the page. Save them first.
- The preview shows 100 rows at a time (50 on a summary search). Click Load 100 more to see more.
- Summary criteria can't be edited in Search Studio. Edit them on NetSuite's Criteria tab.
- Some fields only take values through NetSuite's own chooser. Use Choose in NetSuite when you're offered it.
- Saving can't set audience, roles, email schedules or highlighting.
- If someone else changes the search while you have it open, your save replaces their changes.
