Running a Package

Plans: Pro

Running a package exports every report in it as a single download. You can run the reports exactly as saved, or for one period and subsidiary.

Running a package

To run a package:

  1. Click the package's Export button. The run sheet opens under the package.
  2. Under Run for, choose a Period and a Subsidiary, or leave them on As saved.
  3. Under Download as, choose One workbook or Zip of files.
  4. Click Run N reports.
  5. When the run finishes, click Download in the panel and choose where to save the file.

You can keep working while it runs. To stop it, click Cancel run. Nothing is downloaded from a cancelled run.

Choosing a period

The periods come from your own NetSuite accounting periods, so 4-4-5 and other calendars work as they should.

  • Relative: Last closed period, Current period, Prior period, Fiscal quarter to date or Fiscal year to date. Each one shows the period and dates it stands for today.
  • Fixed dates: pick a From and a To date, then click Use dates.

Reports that take a single date, such as agings, use the end date.

Checking each report

Each report in the run sheet has a label showing what it will run with:

  • Blue with a pencil: you've given this report its own period or subsidiary.
  • Orange: this report can't take the filter, so it runs as saved. For example, No date filter · as saved.
  • Grey: this kind of report is never filtered. Workbooks always run as saved.

Click a report's label to give just that report its own period or subsidiary for this run.

Tip: Set it up once, then click Save as default. Next month the package opens with Last closed period already picked, so you only need to click Run.

What you get

  • One workbook gives you one .xlsx file with a sheet for each report. Zip of files gives you a separate file for each report.
  • If you used a period or subsidiary, the first sheet is Run parameters. It lists exactly what each report ran with.
  • A report that had nothing for your filters gets a sheet saying "No data for…", so you can see it ran.
