Reviewing Changes in Live View

Plans: All plans

Live View gives you two ways to read a record's history. Classic view lists every change. Event mode groups the changes by who made them and when.

Classic view

Classic view is a single table with the newest change first. The columns are Date/Time, User, Field, Type, Old Value and New Value. It's the closest to NetSuite's own System Notes subtab.

Event mode

Event mode groups changes into events. Changes one person makes within about a minute of each other count as one event, which usually means one save.

To review an event:

  1. Click Event mode.
  2. In the row of event cards at the top, click an event. Each card shows the user, the time and the number of changes.
  3. Below the cards, read who made the change, when, and under which role and context. Then check the table of fields that changed, with their old and new values.

Each card is labelled so you can spot the important ones:

  • Create: the earliest event on the record.
  • Edit: any other change.
  • Approval: the status moved from Pending Approval to Open or Approved.
  • Rejected: the status changed to Rejected.

Tip: Click a column heading (Field, Type, Old Value or New Value) to sort the changes in that event. Click the same heading again to reverse the order.

Getting the latest changes

Live View doesn't update by itself. If someone changes the record while you have the panel open, click Refresh.

Exporting to CSV

Click Export to download every change as a CSV file. The file has the date, user, field, type, old and new values, role and context. Its name includes the record type and ID, so you can tell files apart.
