Live View Tips and Limits
Plans: All plans
Tips
- Find who approved it. In Event mode, look for the Approval or Rejected card. It shows who changed the status, when, and under which role.
- Spot integration changes. The event details show the context of each change, such as a CSV import, a script or a web service. That helps you tell a person's edit from an automated one.
- Send the history to an auditor. Use Export to get a CSV file you can filter in Excel or attach to a ticket.
- Put it on the wheel. If you check history often, add System Notes Live View to your Shortcut Wheel, or set a hotkey.
Known limits
- Live View only works in view mode. Save or cancel your edit first.
- Live View doesn't update on its own. Click Refresh to see changes made after you opened it.
- If you close Live View and open it again within a couple of minutes, you see the same results. Click Refresh to get the latest.
- Create marks the earliest change Live View found, which isn't always the moment the record was created.
- Event mode skips checkboxes that were only set to unticked. Classic view shows them.
- If your role can't see System Notes, Live View may be empty and shows a message saying the notes may be restricted for your role.
- On a few setup records, a note at the top says the results were matched by ID alone. They may include changes from an unrelated record with the same ID.
- On records with a very long history, loading can time out. Try again, or use NetSuite's System Notes subtab.
